Wedding Weekend

What a fun weekend! My cousin, Justin, got married on Saturday in Madison to his beautiful bride, Meghan. The rain held off just long enough for their outdoor ceremony and all the guests made it into the tent....THEN it POURED! We were oblivious to the rain and freezing weather...we danced and danced and had the best time. Meghan looked beautiful as always and the two of them just glowed! They were so happy...

My other cousin, Jason and his daughter Amelia flew down from Boston and stayed with us on Sunday night and Monday. We had such an incredible time with them. Amelia is almost 4 and we hadn't seen her in about two years. She is such a polite, sweet young girl. To say that she loved our dogs was an understatement....she ADORED them! She played with them all day on Sunday...then she helped me cook dinner (baked ziti, salad, homemade ranch) which was a lot of fun for both of us! She enjoyed sitting on Lee's lap and looking for deer in our backyard...too bad they never appeared! I was so sad to drop her off today at the airport...she kept waving and blowing kisses to us until she couldn't see us anymore.

The 3rd cousin (but not the last) Kristin is due any day now with baby Millie. I was so proud of her for coming to the wedding and dancing away the night. Not that she would have missed her baby brother's wedding! She looked like a million bucks and we had a great time running to the bathroom in the rain as pregnant women need to always do.

We had a fabulous weekend with family....the best kind of weekend to have! I am happy to be pregnant, thankful for my close relationship with my cousins and excited about our growing family! Here are some pictures from the weekend:

15 Weeks and the Bump

I was 15 weeks on Wednesday....pretty much feel the same. No more sickness all day just the occasional nausea but I stay hungry. AND I mean hungry! Lee just laughs at me....he thinks it is funny! (or at least he will until I start gaining massive amounts of weight!) I am dying to feel the baby move for the first time. I will lay still for hours at night just hoping I will feel it. I know it will happen soon but I am not patient when it comes to this! My skin is starting to get a little bad....which of course is not something I am happy about. But it could just be my eating habits and not pregnancy horomones...or maybe a little of both!
Here is the latest picture of me - took it last night - so 15 weeks - little baby bump!

Melin's Survey that I stole....

Ok so I loved Melin's post so much the other day that I thought I would copy it and do it for myself - let's see how I do:

Things I'll always wear:
1. A good pair of jeans - you know the ones that fit you like a glove, know all the curves of your body and make you look great too!
2. Mascara - I rarely leave the house without it! I have used Loreal Voluminous since I was a junior in high school and I still declare it the BEST mascara out there.
3. I love wearing earrings! I could never have enough - love all kinds - classic studs or hoops, long dangly ones, fake, real - you name it I will wear them!
4. Heels! Don't get me wrong I love flip flop season but I love a great pair of heels that kill your feet but look damn good!

I can't live without (Like Melin's answer -there are obvious things on this list: Lee, family, this baby inside my belly, Roscoe and Winston, and my friends...but I am going to be shallow and talk only of inanimate objects):
1. Gum or Hard Candy - always have it, love it, my dentist hates this obsession!
2. Cheeseburgers or Bean Burritos right now - haha!
3. My favorite pillow and pillowcase - not that many people know about this - but I have had it since I was little and I love, love, love it!
4. Lip Gloss - right now my favorite is Victoria Secret Candy (tastes yummy too!)

My new favorite hotel (!@#!? - clearly someone famous did this list):
Love the James Madision Hotel in Madison, GA - staying there again on Saturday night! :)

My next trip with the kids: Baby bump will be going to Florida with the family and Louisana for a wedding this summer.

The soundtrack of my life: (this is going to be hard for me)
Childhood: Monster Mash (loved making up dances) and
High School: Too many - Indigo Girls (like Melin), U2, Pearl Jam, Billy Joel, Sting, and so many more.....
College: More of the above plus Hootie and the Blowfish, Smashing Pumpkins, Dolly Parton (Maggie that is for you!), and Shania Twain
Currently: Right now anything relaxing - Christian praise music, Enya, Celtic Woman, and anything that Melin sends me that I can understand! haha

My workout regime: Walking

All Time Favorite Flower: Peony

Recipe for Relaxing Guests:
Clean but homey house. Relaxed attire. Good food. Drinks. Me! :)

Reason to Raid the Kitchen:
Do I have to really tell you my reason.....UH PREGNANT!!!

What a weekend!

Well, we had an interesting weekend to say the least! Sloane (Mary's 2 yr old) came and spent the night with us on Friday night for the first time. We had the best time playing with her - Lee or rather "Wee" or "Weebo" is her favorite person on the planet! We took her to Chick-fil-A and had so much fun being "pretend" parents. She is the easiest kid on the planet when it comes to bedtime - I told her at 8pm that is was time to go night-night - she grabbed her blankies and off to bed she went. We were still up and laughing at her as she sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" to herself in the guest bedroom. All was going great....until the storm hit! She is used to sleeping with a small fan on in her room to drown out all the other noises and we forgot to get it from Mary. So...she heard every little whoosh of the wind and boom of the thunder. Then the air sirens started going off (we live inside the city limits and they turn them on in case of tornado) and she was terrified! We got her up and turned on the news to see that there was some really bad weather coming our way. We loaded her up (along with all the blankies and pillows) and headed downstairs to the closet in the basement. We spread out a comfy, down comfortor and had an ice cream party in the closet. How fun is that!!?? The storm passed and we finally got her back to sleep around midnight after about a million comments and questions...."Wee, did you hear that noise? Wind blowing....thunder". It was priceless!!

Then on Saturday we helped host a Mexican Fiesta couples shower for Justin and Meghan at my parent's house. We had the best time as you can tell from the pictures below! Kristin, my cousin, is due in just two weeks with Millie. I love our belly picture b/c she is ready to pop and I am just starting to show. So cute!!

Finally....

I am in my 2nd trimester officially today! What a blessing! I can not imagine waiting until now to tell people that we were pregnant. I can't hold a secret (that is mine) that long! I feel great today...really hungry. I am trying not to eat as much fast food so today I focused on cheese, black bean and spinach quesadillas today. Yum!

Both of my sweet dogs are asleep beside me on the couch as I am working. Roscoe got out of the fence today and ran around the neighborhood for about 15 minutes. He gave me a good scare! Winston just always waits by the back door...he wouldn't dare run off! Such a difference in their two personalities.

I wonder if there is anyone out there who loves General Hospital as much as I do? I had no idea that I would love a show...I know, I know...it is a soap opera but I can't help it!! I DVR it every day and then watch it at night or during the weekend. It is definitely my guilty pleasure!

Thanks again to Melin...I am addicted to searching for new craft ideas on blog sites. I wish I could just make crafts every day instead of working. Wouldn't that be grand? I guess I will have to settle in setting up a craft area in my office and working on little bits and pieces when I have time. I want to make some things for the baby's nursery...so far I can make pillows! I guess that is a start...haha!

In closing, I want to thank all of my family and friends who have been so supportive during these past 3 months of my pregnancy. You were supportive in us trying to get pregnant and so unbelievably there for me when I was so sick. I love you all and can't wait for this little one to meet each and every one of you. He or she is very lucky!!

Style Me Pretty

Melin is actually the reason I started this blog or started reading blogs. She always found these cool ideas and sites so I started checking them out. One of my favorites is called Style Me Pretty...they focus on weddings and everything wedding related...which you know is my favorite thing! The weddings they usually post are like Martha Stewart Weddings...out of this world beautiful! I sent in my wedding last week not expecting to hear anything but lo! and behold they posted it today. You can check it out at www.stylemepretty.com - they will end up doing a couple posts with pictures throughout today. I also told them the story of how Cass, Melin, Lee and I all met in Montana...so romantic and cool that they are posting Cass and Melin's wedding tomorrow! :)

I am still craving ridiculous amounts of bad food...have probably gained 10 lbs in the past two days alone! haha Today I am stuck on Krystal Chick's with Chick-fil-a fries...not to mention that I ate another McDonald's cheeseburger today for lunch. (I did pair it with Baked Lays instead of fries...desperately trying to be healthy!!) Please be praying for my little one...poor thing is swimming in fat and cholesterol.
